Addressing urgent psychological battles and enduring mental health stigma during lockdown - “Shadows” is the sixth and final episode of the ‘Silent Spaces’ series, filmed across London at — King’s Cross Station, The Lexington and Genesis Cinema.
“Shadows” invites audiences to see the opportunity we are presented with now to engender a more constructive, societal mindset, imagining a new future for the cultural spaces that give us a sense of identity, community and hope.
In the weeks before the end of UK lockdown, the striking King’s Cross Station and multi-purpose cultural hubs Genesis cinema and The Lexington Pub host the series finale - a fitting backdrop where artists assemble to forge a united, collective spirit.
Directed by award winning filmmaker Souvid Datta, the centre piece spoken poetry is delivered by his brother and collaborator — Soumik Datta - lyrics that speak to the need for improved mental health awareness, especially in inner-city and diaspora communities.
Breaking the silence of iconic venues, closed nightclubs and empty museums that were out of action during the COVID-19 pandemic, SILENT SPACES is an original new series of 6 episodes directed by Souvid Datta and produced by Soumik Datta Arts.
