An experimental short documentary filmed in the wake of Rwanda's 25th anniversary of the 1994 genocide, following creative pioneers within the country's cultural, artistic and political underground.
With public messaging still censored by an authoritarian government, and with global ideas of Rwanda limited by a mirage of post-genocide recovery, a group of young cultural innovators ask the hard questions, at great personal risk, about their nation’s true identity, history and future.
Through poetic recreations, observational documentary and interviews, we meet the nation’s voices of instigation and progress, reclaiming Rwanda’s narrative from the shadows.
