In 2019, BBC Studios commissioned Souvid Datta to be a second unit director across 3 x 60min episodes of their new arts show 'Rhythms of India'. Presented by sarod virtuoso and composer Soumik Datta, the series explores the connection between Indian history, music, politics and culture - from the classical schools of Varanasi to Mumbai's rave scene.

Produced across a three month shoot, Souvid worked as a Self-Shooting Director / Producer alongside BBC producers in the UK leading a small local crew on location across India – under the supervision of series director Ashok Prasad, and episode directors Ben Harding & Pete Stanton.
